I nDeire Fómhair 1982 thug DRUID an léiriú stairiúil a rinne Gary Hynes den Playboy of the Western World le J.M. Synge d’Inis Meáin. Tugadh daoine agus seiteanna i dtír i gcurachaí. Tháinig beagnach pobal uilig an oileáin chuig an dráma.
 
In October 1982 the historic and definitive Druid Theatre Company production of Synge’s The Playboy of the Western World directed by Gary Hynes came to Inis Meáin. Almost everybody from the island attended. Cast, crew and sets came ashore by curach.
