Bháscóta Bán

Long before James T Brudenell, aka Lord Cardigan, gave his name to the woollen garment worn by British army officers in the middle of the 19^th century islanders in Inis Meáin were wearing knitted jackets. Following on from the re-launch of our original Pub Jacket last Spring Summer season we have made a new high V-neck jacket inspired by a 1910 photo of a local fisherman wearing a “Bháscóta Bán” as it was called.

The new Bháscóta Bán is buttoned higher and also comes in a longer version with pockets.

SS18 also includes garments in Organic Pima Cotton, Linen/Silk with a slub effect, Cotton/Cashmere/Silk and a mix of Masters of Linen with Organic Pima.
