On the Island, Aran patterns were passed down within families with pride. Inis Meáin's signature Patented Aran pattern has the distinction of being held in the collection of the National Museum of Ireland. Unique to Inis Meáin, the intricate composition of this fine cable knit pattern is reminiscent of the strong twists of the Island fishing ropes. Eminently versatile as an elegant large shawl, a luxurious travel blanket, or as a uniquely decorative bed or couch throw. Crafted from Baby Alpaca blended with Silk and made to the highest environmental standards using only organic and premium quality dyes. Measures 72cm x 158cm.

Available in comforting Brown Marl, warm Grey and soft Cream. The Large Aran Shawl in Grey has featured in the bedrooms at our sister company, Inis Meáin Island Stays since opening, and many of our guests have not been able to leave the island without at least one after their stay. Designed, made and hand-finished in our Aran Islands workshop.

Hassle-free Worldwide delivery with all taxes and duties included at checkout with no further payments required. All orders are shipped via DHL, except US orders shipped with UPS. A tracking number will be emailed to you once your order has left our factory.

Although we will do everything we can to deliver as fast as possible and usually within a few days, please allow up to a maximum 10 day shipping period due to our remote offshore island location where weather conditions can impact shipping your special package from the Aran Islands.

Extended Christmas Returns to the 16th of January for goods purchased since the 24th of November (overrides standard policy return times below). If we can help you with your seasonal gifting in any other way please let us know!

Our Online Shop Returns Policy means that if you are not fully happy with the goods you have received, you can return them to us within 14 days of receipt, providing they are in original resalable condition. Once returned you will be entitled to receive a refund, which will not include the cost of the original shipping.
