100% Cashmere

At Inis Meáin, we have been designing and making high quality knitwear, in the Aran Islands, for almost 50 years. Traditionally a predominantly fishing and farming community, the Boatbuilder is our highly popular version of an Aran Fisherman Sweater. The distinctive raglan ribbed pattern was originally designed for flexibility in the shoulder area for carrying out the physical tasks of lobster fishing or currach-building. Practical and supremely comfortable, with a high roll neck for warmth.

Occasionally we knit our signature Boatbuilder Sweater in 100% super-premium Cashmere from Italian heritage producer Filati Biagioli, who supply the most exceptional Cashmere to the world’s most coveted brands. We have a very limited quantity of this luxury Aran Sweater available, in this supremely soft and cozy, yet very breathable yarn, thanks to the loft provided by the super-premium Cashmere. Designed to the same size spec as the Boatbuilder in our Cashmere/Merino blend, however the 100% Cashmere version has a little more drape, due to its softer hand-feel.

The Original and Luxury Fisherman Sweater from the Aran Islands. Available in Bán (a creamy White), a pale Blue Marl, and in soft, natural Sand Marl in extremely limited quantities. Designed, made and hand-finished in our island workshop in Inis Meáin.

Hassle-free Worldwide delivery with all taxes and duties included at checkout with no further payments required. All orders are shipped via DHL, except US orders shipped with UPS. A tracking number will be emailed to you once your order has left our factory.

Although we will do everything we can to deliver as fast as possible and usually within a few days, please allow up to a maximum 10 day shipping period due to our remote offshore island location where weather conditions can impact shipping your special package from the Aran Islands.

Extended Christmas Returns to the 16th of January for goods purchased since the 24th of November (overrides standard policy return times below). If we can help you with your seasonal gifting in any other way please let us know!

Our Online Shop Returns Policy means that if you are not fully happy with the goods you have received, you can return them to us within 14 days of receipt, providing they are in original resalable condition. Once returned you will be entitled to receive a refund, which will not include the cost of the original shipping.
