100% Cashmere Aran Sweater – Bán

Inis Meáin 100% Cashmere, Knit to Order Special Exclusive

At Inis Meáin, we have been designing and making high quality knitwear, in the Aran Islands, for almost 50 years. In the process, we are sustaining an island community, and preserving an important part of Irish history and culture by making it relevant to a modern, worldly audience.

For the first time, we are presenting one of our most popular sweaters – the Celebration Aran Sweater, inspired by the highly decorated styles once prized as Sunday Best formal wear on the Island – in 100% super-premium Cashmere. Knit with yarn from italian heritage producer Filati Biagioli, who supply the most exceptional Cashmere to the world’s most coveted brands. This yarn is so highly prized, that we are only making these garments on a Knit To Order basis, available exclusively from our Online Store.

This exquisitely refined Aran Sweater is unbelievably soft and cozy, yet very breathable, thanks to the loft provided by the super-premium cashmere. Designed to the same size spec as the Aran Sweater in our Cashmere/Merino blend, however the 100% Cashmere version has a little more drape, due to its incredibly soft hand-feel.

Only available in Bán (a soft, creamy White), and in extremely limited quantities.
The Original Aran Sweater from the Aran Islands – designed, made and hand-finished in our island workshop in Inis Meáin.

The next available delivery date for these special knit to order pieces is the 31st of May 2024.  To receive one of these extremely limited-run, 100% Cashmere Aran Sweaters, knit for you by that date, order by the 30th of April 2024 – while yarn stock lasts.
Please note any orders placed on or after July 28th won't be shipped until after August the 18th. Contact us about this product.

This garment is made using one of nature's most luxurious natural fibres, Cashmere. This yarn has a characteristic crimp making it susceptible to pilling over time. To protect against pilling do not wear underneath other woolen layers or velcros and do not over-wash. Hand wash in water no more than 30 degrees using a mild detergent. Lay on a flat surface to dry.
