Caoladóir Sweater

The Caoladóir or Basketweaver Sweater is inspired by the tradition of basketmaking on the islands. Baskets were used extensively throughout island life, particularly for farming and fishing activities. The original lobster pots were made from willow and the modern steel editions are reminiscent of the wicker versions, wrapped with ropes creating a trellis effect. This lightweight sweater features a geometrical basketweave stitch throughout, creating distinctive stitch interest, especially in lighter colours. This neat sweater features a sleek saddle shoulder and ribbed trims. For Spring / Summer 2025, we have introduced this new special yarn blend with super-premium Cashmere, Silk, Linen and Cotton from Italian heritage producer, Filati Biagioli Modesto, made to the highest European environmental standards using only organic dyes.

The four elements in this blended yarn create rich and unique depths of colour. Available in Silver Marl, a delicate and versatile shade of light metal grey. Designed, made and hand-finished in our Aran Island’s workshop.

All orders are shipped via DHL. A tracking number will be emailed to you once your order has left our factory. Although we will do everything we can to deliver as fast as possible, please allow up to a 10 day shipping period due to our remote location on an offshore island.

Our Online Shop Returns Policy means that if you are not fully happy with the goods you have received, you can return them to us within 14 days of receipt, providing they are in original resalable condition. Once returned you will be entitled to receive a refund, which will not include the cost of the original shipping.
