The unique natural beauty and rich Irish culture of the three Aran Islands have long attracted artists, musicians and literary figures. One of the latest visual and literary representations is The Banshees of Inisherin, mostly filmed on our neighbouring island of Inis Mór, pictured here behind Inis Meáin.
The Banshees of Inisherin is a wonderful showcase for both the Aran Islands’ stunning landscape, and our Aran Sweater Heritage, and we wish the crew Ádh Mór, or the best of luck with their record nine Oscar nominations.
Original Aran sweater motifs, along with Aran workwear shapes, and the island’s natural beauty, have always inspired our collections. This shared inspiration with The Banshees of Inisherin has created many similarities in the knits worn by Colin Farrell and the cast, to our classic Inis Meáin Knitwear designs.
These include the Boatbuilder in our luxurious Cashmere and Merino blend, currently available in limited quantities in colours Clare and Longford in our Shop.
