In the early days of this company all of our cargo was transferred by currach onto the big ferry from Galway, colloquially “The Steamer”, which used to anchor approximately 300 metres from the shore.
The currach was carried down the slipway by three of our crew who used to launch into all sorts of seas, winter and summer. It was then carried up to shelter again after each sailing. From this image of the currach being carried by three men, we designed our company logo, an icon for everything we do.
For Spring/Summer ’20 we have revisited the currach scenes. Inspired by a beautiful idyllic poem by Aran poet Máirtín Ó Direáin, An tEarrach Thiar (The Western Spring) we bring you our latest ideas in Linen, Silk & Organic Cotton.
